Accenture Organizational Profile Paper

I. Organization

A. Structure and Organization: 

Accenture was initially a part of an accounting organization known as Arthur Andersen. The company dealt with business technology, with its first task being the automation of a Kentucky-based firm’s payroll system. Andersen Consulting split from the main firm in 1989, and in 2001, Accenture emerged (Jeffery, 2010). Although it was initially a part of Arthur Andersen, Accenture’s age is counted from where it gained its independence and adopted the new name. Therefore, the company is 16 years old. Accenture’s organization structure is relationship-based, with a great concern for values. Strong internal relationships are created within the company, creating a unique culture followed by its employees. Organizational activities in the company are divided to allow each task to be completed, thus meeting the needs of the company. Organization structure in this firm follows the seven main elements of organization structure suggested by Buchanan and Huczynski (2017). Its organization hierarchy chart is complex, allowing the diversification of work force whereby each manager is allocated a project to lead. The firm’s organizational structure also includes more than 170,000 employees, working in the different countries globally. Decisions are made independently in each of the company branches depending on the needs of the customers in the region (Kress, 2012). Technology used in this company includes software and remote connections to allow employees to interact across department and across the globe.

B. Customer Profile: 

The primary customers of the company includes firms interested in outsourcing IT services (Jeffery, 2010). Due to Accenture’s wide base of services including IT services, management consulting, and global outsourcing, the firm has managed to attract over 246,000 customers globally. It provides its services to clients in different industries, based on its unparalleled structure, which gives it a competitive advantage over its competitors.

C. IT Values: 

The IT values for Accenture Company include collaboration in which the IT of the company seeks to integrate all of its branches to work within the same system. The firm deals with intellectual property rights by having policies that require the use of the approaches that have been developed by the firm without copying others approaches or using their products. The private policy for the firm to always ensure the network of the business is secure, which is done through constant improvement of the network of systems used by the firm. The firm ensures the accuracy of data it stores by using computers rather than people. The out sourcing move has also helped the firm to store accurate data since the contracted companies are competent in their duty and through scrutinize the firm’s data. The technology used is that of SAP which uses data to plan for the firm. The firm ensures data accessibility by using systems that allow remote access of the firm’s information, but only by approved employees to ensure security of the data.

To ensure effective transition of the IT structure of the firm all senior managers of the firm are expected to attend all meeting organized without failure.

D. Internal Standards: 

The internal standards for IT governance include all the units of the business are to carry out their operations using the SAP technology implemented in the firm. The firm requires that the all unit managers work together in the steering committee to ensure a collaborative approach to IT use.

II. IT Vision and Mission

A. IT Vision: 

The vision statement includes, “To become the leading IT firm in offering customer centric services. “

B. IT Mission: 

The mission statement includes, “We work to ensure that we offer optimal services to our customers through innovation and advancement of IT structures.”
