  • The business issue of focusing on their bottom line (profit) over social and environmental issues can be defined as a business’s obligation to CC and CSR

  • Corporate citizenship is defined as working within the guidelines of established legislative and regulatory state or federal mandates

  • Coporate social responsibility is defined as going above and beyond legislative and mandatory regulatory mandates

PRACTICE:

  • The act of businesses focusing on their bottom line over social or environmental issues has been around as long as people have been doing business

  • It has been standard practice for businesses to focus on their investors’ main priority; bottom line or profit

  • There are different schools of thoughts and approached on how businesses can meet the needs of investors and focus on social and environmental issues
