What struck you in particular as you explored the course materials this week?

I was able to explore and find out what group I really want to write about for my final paper. I chose to write about the Native Americans because a few years ago I found out that my grandfather was part Native American, so this course will help me find out the struggles that they had to deal with.

What insights have you had?

The insights that I have had so far in this course is the way different races were treated in the 1800's and 1900's. I was able to find out the different reasons why the Europeans came to America while Native Americans helped them until the Europeans declared the land as theirs.

What have you been struggling with?

I haven't been struggling with anything in this course so far. I know in the weeks coming up I will have a few struggles thinking about what I want to put on my final paper and how I want to construct my paper but as of right now I don't have any struggles.

What questions have come up for you at this point?

At this time I don't have any questions to ask.

Do you have any helpful tips that you’ve picked up in this course or in a past course?

Since I have started taking classes at Ashford University, I have found some keys aspects that have helped me with my studies. The first tip I can give to anyone is to listen to your professors very carefully. If you have written a discussion post or an assignment I am sure a couple of you have had an instructor ask you questions aboutyour post or have made useful suggestions for an essay. They are not doing these things to make you feel bad. Our professors are here to help us learn and to open our minds to new possibilities.

Do you have questions about the assignment that your classmates might be able to help with?

What are the different things that everyone is trying to learn and get out of this class? Do you hope that you learn a lot more after taking this class then you did before you took it?
