NUR 512: Organization, Delivery, and Policy in Healthcare | i Organization, Delivery, and Policy in Healthcare Course Description Three hours per week theory. Prerequisite: Permission of nursing faculty. This course will explore epidemiological, sociopolitical, and cultural factors that influence pop\ ulation and global health. Health policy, including how it is formulated as well as its impact on clinical pract\ ice and healthcare delivery, will be considered. The nurse’s role as an advocate for healthcare policy and\ health promotion will be explored. Course Objectives At the end of the course the student will be able to:

T\ he discussion board will facilitate student-faculty, student-content, and student-student interaction. Each week there will be two discussions related to the module content and students will be expected \ to respond to the professor ’s thread via their responses to other students’ postings. Each student will be\ required to post their initial response by midweek ( Wednesday 11:59 pm EST) and then actively respond to at least two other \ students by the deadline. Each discussion board thread is worth 15 points and students are expected to post the minimum number of times on each board each week. Additionally an email to the appropriate legislator regarding\ the issue will be composed. The student can create the web page using the publication features of Word. The student is not required to publish the web page but if they desire to do so they can through sites.google.com. \ Students will submit individual emails to the legislators to the digita\ l drop box for this assignment.
