Purpose of Assignment

 

Now that the organization has been chosen, and the consultant has been identified as being internal or external, a specific project can be identified. In addition to clarifying the course project, the Week 2 assignment will utilize the learnings about scorecards to apply one of the course tools to the proposed project.

 

Assignment Steps

Create a 10- to 12-slide presentation in which you include the following:

Propose a project to be conducted within the organization you chose Week 1. Examples of projects may include:

Restructuring a department or organization.

Evaluating a new product or service's viability for an existing or proposed business.

Evaluating the needs for training and development.

Evaluating a product, service, or process for possible improvement. 

Complete either a balanced scorecard or causal chain scorecard analysis for the selected project.

For Causal Chain, include:

Discuss input measures (people, projects, time).

Discuss cost measures - the cost of all inputs.

Discuss reaction measures (reaction and satisfaction data).

Examine learning measures (changes in knowledge, skills, and perceptions).

Examine impact measures (intangible and tangible data).

Discuss ROI measures (compares monetary benefits to costs).

Differentiate the causal chain balanced scorecard from the other types of scorecards. 

For Balanced Scorecard, include:

Examine the Learning & Growth Perspective.

Discuss the Business Process Perspective.

Discuss the Customer Perspective.

Examine the Financial Perspective.

Differentiate the Balanced Scorecard from other types of scorecards. 

Note: Scope should be limited to what you can accomplish in the course and considerations made on access to available information and the people available in the organization. It is preferred that the project you complete for this class is an actual work product for an existing company.

Cite a minimum of three peer-reviewed references, one of the three must be the textbook.

Format your assignment consistent with APA guidelines.
