  • Trust among stakeholders

  • Experience in community development

  • Poor sanitation

  • Difficulty in service delivery by leaders.

Strengths

Enough space for development

With the existence of vast space around the community, the community has enough space that can be used to carry out developmental projects like the water and sanitation.

A community that is ready to work

From the few months has been an intern in the community, I have observed that the people in the community is very hardworking. Coming across the members they are always working in their groceries stores, place of labor and those who own gardens are always working (Valentine, 2001).

History of collaboration

The society has a great history of collaborations with few projects of institutions like banks, companies, and churches where various projects are going on. An example of such partnerships is that between churches and the community where they have been sweeping the streets at least once a week.

Opportunities

Ability to collaborate

The community has the capabilities of working especially with the existence of collaborative projects as evidence.

Attention of Investors

Among the key elements of the community, embracing investors both from within and outside the community is the order of the day. It is because the society well receives most projects initiated by investors.

Trust among stakeholders

When launching programs, the community has demonstrated that it believes investors and gives then full support especially those that are available for a noble cause.

Experience in community development

It is with no doing that the issue of developmental programs is not a new problem within the society. People have experience in various developmental programs that have so far helped the community in many ways.

Weaknesses

Little knowledge

May community members seem to be less educated upon advanced stages of learning especially for those individuals who are unable to write many.

Lack of accountability on community projects

Lack of accountability on community projects ways of accounting for the projects in the community could be identified.

Threats

High cases of violence crimes

The most troubling issue that may scare away developers and investors is the patterns of crime with violence within the locality. It may be noted that as a low-income society, such patterns is not new. However, security remains to be a big concern at required to be addressed.

Poor sanitation

It is another threat that poses a danger to the life of the people. Some houses lack good drainage systems, and this has led to an accumulation of dirt water thus resulting in an unclean environment.

Difficulty in service delivery by leaders

As it is known, leadership can make or break a community. In the case here, poor leadership has resulted in many firms withdrawing from helping the people thus hampering any developmental efforts aimed at helping the community become independent.

SWOT Analysis findings

The community is an active player in developmental projects and the recent ten years have seen some projects becoming successful. Despite the poor leadership, the company’s key strength of being willing to work, some threats may affect the society at larger. However, the community has the capabilities of putting its differences aside and work towards successful project implementation (Valentine, 2001).
