A 13-year-old girl, Clara who comes from a divorced family and lives with her mother and brother, moves to a new town and begins freshman year at a new school. The girl’s father has every excuse to not spend time with his children. The mother is very caught up in her own life and does not see the things that are happening in front of her eyes.

Clara is so desperate to fit in at her new school and become friends with the “popular girls” that she will do anything to be accepted by them. She begins by stealing, then to drugs and sex, all to be accepted by her very troubled new best friend, Lauren and the rest of the girls in the circle.

Clara has deep-rooted issues that begin to surface, as she gets deeper and deeper into this new-troubled life.

As time goes on, all the partying, the drugs, the alcohol, the stealing eventually gets blamed on Clara, even by her Lauren who washes her hands of her and insinuates that Clara is the reason Lauren ever did anything bad. The fact of the matter is, that Clara was a good girl who cared about her school work and her mother and brother, but once she gets caught up with the “popular” life, her own life begins to fall apart.
