Hello Everyone,

I enjoyed learning more about the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Movement. Also, I found the courage of the many Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, and Transgender to be very interesting. The Stonewall Riots was a statement that demanded equality regardless of personal preferences. With my personal connections and experience as a lesbian, I can just imagine how hard it must of been for those in the L.G.B.T community during the 1950s. Even at the time that I openly confessed my sexuality I dealt with a lot of discrimination, rude remarks, and objects, such as bottles and rocks being thrown at me. So, to think that those of the L.G.B.T community had no equal rights, and were often accused of being communists or suffering from mental disorder is rather heartbreaking.

I have learned a lot about the Cold War, along with President Kennedy's agenda to make a change for African Americans. The vision Kennedy had was what changed the future of African Americans, (along with American society) as his plans were carried out by President Johnson.

Best,

Krystal
