MBA 599 Case Content Guidelines
Use headings (ex: Description of the Firm, Company History). Double space all parts of the case. Conduct research (websites, journals, trade magazines, etc.). Cite it (APA Style is required). Include a references page. Include a title page, running heads, and page numbers.

Project Deliverables
Phase 1 – Modules 1-3 (Outline for Strategic Management Case)
Introduction of the company (limit to a maximum of three single-spaced pages).
o Description of the firm and its products
o Company history (brief history, critical events, competitors, leadership), including strategic
elements of its history
o Vision and mission statement
o Assessment of mission and vision
External assessment
o EFE (External Factor Evaluation ) and CPM (Competitive Profile Matrix) with strategic implications (complete the chart and include ½ page analysis for each matrix)
o Analysis of competitive position, opportunities, and threats (1 pg)
Internal assessment
o IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) with strategic implications (chart and ½ page analysis)
o Financial ratio analysis with key conclusions and implications for strategic choice (chart and ½ page analysis)
o Overall analysis of internal capabilities and implications for your strategic decisions (1 page)
Phase 2 – Modules 4-6
Internal assessment (continued from Phase 1—include IFE and financial ratios- see previous section on internal assessment)
o Current strategy (brief description of the firm’s current strategies), including current use of
technology (½ page)
o SWOT matrix with strategic implications for the company (chart ½ page)
o BCG matrix with strategic implications for the company (chart ½ page)
o Space or other matrices with strategic implications for the company (chart ½ page)
o Possible strategic alternatives ( ½ page)
o Evaluation of current organizational structure (½ page)
o Recommendation changes (if needed) to the structure, culture (including values), processes,
rewards, or technology ( ½ page)
Phase 3 – Modules 7-8
Strategic analysis, choices, impact, and measurement
o Product-positioning map (chart)
o Evaluation of strategies and objectives to achieve most favorable market position (1/2 page discussion of strategies and objectives—they should be related to the product-positioning map)
o Description of how you would implement your strategies (1/2 page)
o Milestones (steps for each major initiative with their timelines (create a timeline or chart)
o Specific results you want to achieve including market, financial, and product or service goals (1/2 page)
o Financial projection (minimum three years) ½ page
o Presentation with audio – (10-12 slides).
o Executive summary – (3/4 page maximum; it is like an abstract). The summary provides and overview of main points from each section. It is the last thing you’d write.
