Top three issues writing specialist focusing on

The three subjects which are being given a good deal of focus in this writing are the thesis statement, paragraph formation, and the appropriate use of the quotation. The issues were surprising because I have written almost 20 essay papers while attending Ashford and I have not had this harsh critique. I worked hard on this article and will try to do much harder now.

Lessons from the Feedback within the Writing Specialist

The lesson from my writing expert is how to make a readable paper through the use of citations. Yes, the feedback was helpful since I always apply the quotes in most of my paperwork. I could not imagine and believe that I made that simple error. From now on since I am aware of what I am required to do because it might land myself into problems with that minor fault I will make sure to complete it correctly. I am delighted that my writing expert points that mistake for me.

The importance of Paper Reviews Tool

I understand that there is a need for improvement in academic writing since it minimizes the errors by people. Establishment of the specifics and avoiding the plagiarism issue showed a bright start and highlighted for me once they indicated that citation should be following every statement. I do believe that I did quotations a bit too much with the application of more of my expressions; nevertheless, I am now familiar with the format or how the paper structure is supposed to look like. I used more of my words and few words of the author. An individual does not have to be an expert to demonstrate that they are on target at writing; instead, these people are obliged to admit having skills that need to be developed. Therefore, there must be the presence of clarity as well as the translation of our ideas. Furthermore, in the academic writing, a person has to prove his or her point, develop his or her thoughts and always proofread the work when through to reduce errors, as a result, leading to a well-written paper.

Whether to use Ashford Writing Center Again

I will always use the Ashford Writing Center for the reviewing of my work since it will help me in becoming an expert in writing. My first time presenting a written article to the writing center was fantastic. I was so passionate that they were able to point out the errors. At this point in time, I am have been significantly informed when I began on my week five final essay so as to do a much better job. Therefore, I think that I am always going to use this tool since it is one way that I might be able to improve on my writing skill.

Final Paper Rough Draft

The identified global societal problem is the refugee crisis. A refugee is known as the migration of huge groups of the displaced people. The displaced population can either be internally displaced individuals, refugees or even the migrants. Since the beginning of the year 2015, an unprecedented number of people whose origin is in the Middle Eastern and African nations are fleeing wars, cruel poverties, prosecution and they have been crossing borders into Europe as they transverse the Mediterranean. The refugee crisis has turned immigration, border control, asylum, and the state sovereignty into the interconnected problems thus making the process of migration not only to be a political event but also a media spectacle. This has resulted in some issue to the fore, from the refugee quotas as well as the moral imperative that apparently ground European humanism to the impossibility of the European unity (Ostrand, 2015). Thesis Statement: Refugee crisis should not be disregarded because of the burden it brings to the host nations. Instead, there should be opening up safe routes to sanctuary for the refugees; resettling of the refugees; development of rescue missions; allowing the refugee to cross borders; investigation and prosecution of the trafficking gangs; combating of all forms of the xenophobia and the racial discrimination; setting up a stronger refugee system; and treating of the refugee in affair way. Through these solutions, refugees would be able to move freely to the safe nations; vulnerable individuals like kids would be resettled; there shall be a reduction in the deaths of the refugees with the creation of rescue missions; reducing the exploitation of the refugees by the gangs; reduction of the racial discrimination; allowing asylum; and having the basic needs like education and health.

The Amnesty International is ensuring that the European leaders spend money on refugees to start a new life within the European nations instead of handing over of the life-saving smugglers. This is an effective way of implementing the process of opening the new safe and legal routes. The safe passage to sanctuary can be through resettlement, providing humanitarian visas, and reunification of the refugees with their families. This strategy is important in reducing the number of the deaths. Regarding the resettlement of the refugees, the United Nations protect the vulnerable groups by providing urgent medical needs, allowing the refugees to travel to other nations through a plane and settling some of them (Kirisci, 2014). Resettlement ensures a reunion between the refugee and the family members.

United Security Council (UNSC) is responsible for ensuring that those who abuses human rights like the gangs exploiting the refugees are punished. This is important in reducing the involvement of the refugees in the unlawful acts. This UNSC imposes sanctions; mandate the peace operations, and allowing the use of force in the extreme cases. The European Union is responsible for the protection of the asylum, and this is implemented through ensuring that the European member state protects the rights of the asylum seekers and the refugees.

Several types of research have recommended for more studies on the contributor's factors that lead disunity amongst the European countries regarding the approaches to addressing the refugee crisis. The global adversity of the refugee crisis especially in countries like Syria has apparent ethical disquiets that have never been exceptionally put emphasis on in the discussion on the subject in the United States. This crisis has raised several significant questions concerning the point of view of the citizens on what they should do to allow refugees into their nations (Fernando & Giordano, 2016).

The refugee crisis for example in the countries like Syria has brought up a lot of fears and conflicts among European citizens. Some of the people in the countries who host the refugees for example in the European Nations has complained of the increased violence, for instance, are the incidence of the Cologne attack on New Year's Eve in the Paris attack. In countries that host the Syrian refugees, most of the Muslims have been associated with terrorism. There are other evidence of the cultural conflicts and putting a strain on the nation's economic resources especially when many countries are experiencing an economic crisis. However, there are several movements like the grassroots organizations that encourage and welcome the refugees whereby they assist the refugees with clothes, foods, and building houses for them. Refugees usually face harsh times in the host nations as they find it challenging to be accepted and to assimilate with their new countries. The most recent refugee crisis is not dissimilar because it has caused many fears and the great effort amongst the global citizens.

Some of the solutions that can be recommended in addressing this issue are: opening up safe routes to sanctuary for the refugees; resettling of the refugees who desire it especially the most vulnerable refugees; coming up with rescue missions to save life to reduces the cases of deaths along the borders, allowing the refugee to cross borders especially those fleeing the prosecution from the mother nations; investigating and prosecuting the trafficking gangs who usually exploits refugees and the migrants; combating all forms of the xenophobia as well as the racial discrimination; and setting up a stronger refugee system that allows for asylum, treating of the refugee in affair way through provision of the basic needs like education and health (Kirisci, 2014).

Background Information

The issue of refugee crises has increasingly become a problem in today's modern day society. As at now, the number of the refugees and the internally displaced person are more than 65 million, the largest figure that has ever been recorded. According to the report by the United Nations Refugee Agency, more than half of the world's refugees come from three nations that are ravaged by conflict i.e. Syria, Afghanistan, and Somalia. Various reasons have led to the development and existence of the refugee crises (Bradley, 2012).

Some of this factors that have contributed to the development of the refugee crisis are the global inequalities, individuals fleeing the prosecution and the regimes of the state leaders, and some people fleeing from the violence as well as the outbreak of the wars. The recent development is the case of the Kosovan refugees who were forced to flee their homes due to the conflicts in the Balkans. Another instance is that of the Columbian refugees who went into exile due to the cases of the drug syndicates. Others that have fled away from their nation due to the regime and the genocide are the Rwandan, Afghan, Iraq, and the Iran refugees.

The four-year civil war that is destroying Iraq and Syria has resulted in the mass flight of people which contribute to 25 million Syrian populations fleeing their homes. The Iraq and Syria war is the primary cause of the European Union refugee crisis which is continuously getting worse. The result of the refugee issues is to seek protection from the Western Societies and other neighboring countries.

Refugee crises have a lot of impacts on the society that host the refugees. For example in Lebanon which is a state that hosts most of the refugees from Syria have experienced an increase in the population in towns. This has resulted in a lot of pressure in the healthcare services and the educational services (Forsberg, Jo, David, & Ziad, 2013). There is a challenge in coping up with the management of the wastes. There is also losing of jobs in these countries because many of the refugees are willing to work for a small payment. Many of the citizens of the host nations do complain of the biases when it comes to employment because many organizations are only willing to employ the small payment employees which they are ready to get from the refugees (Patricia, 2013).

The schools are overcrowded with students from the refugees and those of the host nations. This has reduced the number of spaces and few teachers. Marriage is also affected by the refugee crises. There are women within the refugee sides who are willing to be married with a smaller dowry. This affects the normal routine and the culture of marriages among the Lebanese community which involves the payment of huge dowry as an owner and appreciation to the families of the woman. There are also tensions between the two groups due to the cultural and behavioral conflicts. For example, the refugees have cultures that are not recognized by the communities in the host nation e.g. in Lebanon, the Jordanian men do not wear shorts, but the Syrian men do this in their presence thus making them uncomfortable to accept such behaviors. Another case is that Syrian women ride on a motorcycle behind their husbands which is not a practice by the Lebanon (Patricia, 2013).

Argument in Support of the Proposed Solutions

Opening up of the sanctuary routes for the refugees enable them to reunite with their relatives and other families. The safe passage to sanctuaries can be through resettlement using planes and providing humanitarian visas.

The system by the United Nations is designed to protect vulnerable refugees including the torture survivors and the individuals with urgent medical needs. Resettlements enable these people to move to other nations suing plane and settle down for good. According to the studies, almost 7,000 refugees drowned in the Mediterranean while attempting to cross the border (Hind, 2011). The refugees who do not have access to humanitarian visas usually follows the dangerous routes like in this case of those who died in the Mediterranean Sea. The provision of the humanitarian visas is important in helping the situations like this. There is a need for the world leaders to put saving lives as a priority because no one should die while crossing the border. Putting up of the fences in the borders forces the refugees to take dangerous routes which make them ends their lives.

The existence of the tensions between the native communities and the refugees sometimes occur due to the act of the government blaming the refugees and the migrants as the real cause of the economic and the social problems. Combating the xenophobia and the racial discrimination is important in reducing the conflicts that might occur or might be in place to the citizens of the host countries and the refugee (Fakih & Ibrahim, 2016). The xenophobia and the discrimination can be reduced by government stopping to blame the refugees and the migrants on whenever they face the economic and the social challenges. The government should combat all types of xenophobia and the racial discrimination.

Interpretation of the Statistical Data

One positive ethical outcome from this study is that saving human lives and offering a living environment for the adults as well as the youths. The adverse outcome is the strain that is placed on the host countries. The two ethical related issues are that underdeveloped host countries can decide to pay much focus on the existing populace (Fakih & Ibrahim, 2016).

Another work by Professor Shahram on a summary of the Syria refugee, it is evidence that millions of Syrians are seeking refuge outside their country. Another 6 million citizens are internally displaced within the country. Other nations are involved with the crisis; these nations include The United States, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iran, and Turkey. This article explains how the children are affected regarding education and their living conditions. This article recommends that supporting organizations should be funded. Another recommendation from this article is that there should be the settling of more refugees in places like Germany (Akbarzadeh& Conduit, 2016). The strength of this article is that it relied on the primary data for the work. The author also refers to several outside sources to support this article. The negative ethos in this article is that over 6 million people have been displaced. Also, the children are affected regarding their education and the living conditions. The positive ethos in this work is that the author calls for extreme efforts to aid the civilians that are struggling in Syria and therefore nations must learn to welcome the refugees.

In the article by Holmes, the negative ethos is the displacement of the European refugees and how various cultures and nations react to them. There is also no unified Europe especially in dealing with issues of refugees. The positive ethos is the revealing of an interesting fact on the portrayal of the crisis by the media and the countries involved (Holmes & Castaneda, 2016).

Conclusions

It is evident that more than 60 million people have been displaced from their native lands since the 1939 World War II. Some of these have been due to civil wars, fleeing from prosecution, and due to genocide issues. This event has led to the increase in the number of refugees, and it has forced over 10 million individuals from their home with some seeking safety in the neighboring countries. Even though the movements of the refugees place a growing burden on the host countries, world authorities should generate more action to assist since the worldwide crisis causes a higher poverty and affects the economy.
