Operation Rescue has a well-developed nonprofit organization. I have a personal connection with Operation Rescue in which I volunteered with them for March for Life in Washington DC as well as served as a representative for the organization at various pastoral conferences. They are one of the leading prolife activist organizations in the nation. Operation Rescue being a developed organization has expunged most weaknesses. A possible concept that would need to be faced is the life-cycle theory motivated by upcoming generation as stated on page 235 (Worth, 2017). The motivations might change with young workers coming in so it is important for Operation Rescue to have a strong internship, volunteer, or well organized program for new staff. Especially with Operation Rescue being grounded in biblical mandate it is important that those replacing and involving themselves in the organization needs to abide by the same morals.

Another way in which they can generate biblically minded employees in the next generation is by strengthening their volunteer management. On page 249 the book exemplifies various positions in which volunteer management can become a career field in the organization (Worth, 2017). These volunteer positions would require training and experience which could be accomplished through their already initiated volunteer program. With this new job requirements and positions would need to be revised and implemented. As of now Operation Rescue only has a few paid positions making most of their employee’s unpaid volunteers. Although for a nonprofit, volunteers are important, most do not return the following year meaning excess job training and unpredictable volunteer numbers. With a growing organization keeping the turnover ratio to a minimum is an important implementation for all businesses and organizations.

With taking on employees it is important to have an accessible location in which the organization can operate at compacity. Operation Rescue will need to expand their facility to accommodate their growing media presence as on page 265 (Worth, 2017). As of this moment they are in Wichita Kansas which now serves as Operational Rescue’s national headquarters (Operation Rescue, 2017). The decision of where the headquarters are located should involve both the physical and virtual world, as the book states (Worth, 2017). With the growing amount of influence Operation Rescue has, especially with their influence in abortion clinics closing around the U.S., it is prevalent that they keep up their physical location with their virtual appearance.

Even with Operation Rescue being as insightful and social in the local culture they are always in need of people with a heart to serve. No nonprofit, especially those who go against the ways of the world, like Operation Rescue’s fight for life, can operate without like-minded people willing to fight the current. For this reason and many more my heart leans toward non-profit organizations that follow biblical principles in which align with my moral compass. I plan on volunteering with Operation Rescue in the future and would love for a few of these concepts to be taken under advisement for not only the future benefit of the organization but the lives they can change through their success as an organization.

The nonprofit organization that I chose is WikiLeaks which is a multi-national media organization and associated library. This is an organization who works to disclose explicit news that is censored or has been restricted for public viewing. WikiLeaks has secure connections to a vast variety of sources of media internationally and is regarding as one of the most accurate sources of real news.

The first concept I have chosen, and possibly the most important, is transparency. In a world of news that seems to be completely opaque an organization exercising clear transparency would be one in a million. Transparency is pretty much in the mission statement of WikiLeaks. Their purpose is to make transparent what other news organizations are hiding from the public. So to say staying completely transparent is in the best interest of WikiLeaks would be an understatement to say the least. Our text talks about how transparency can be a helping factor when it states, “They are an important force in creating increased transparency, and they have influence because of the visibility they enjoy” (Worth, p. 146).  Organizations, especially news, are able to have strong influence when they are completely transparent and WikiLeaks needs to make this an integral part of their daily efforts to display accurate news.

The second concept that I believe is crucial to WikiLeaks success is to be motivated and for the right reasons. The text talks about nonprofits motivation when it states, “While business corporations may be socially responsible, their primary purpose is to increase the wealth of the owners, whereas the primary purpose of a nonprofit is to achieve its social mission” (Worth, p. 208). The primary purpose and motivation of WikiLeaks is to disclose to the public any hidden information and to let the truth be told. The minute that stops being their focus is the same time that they lose credibility and starting heading towards the wrong direction. The reason WikiLeaks is successful is because they focus on their mission. If they started to be motivated by busting other news stations and making them look bad, or trying to mainly increase revenue by mass producing stories then they will cease to be successful. They need to stay motivated by looking to exclaim the truth the public.

The third concept that I think WikiLeaks needs to adhere to is creating an atmosphere of trust. Our text states that an atmosphere of trust can help to “lower the barriers between individuals and organizations, foster the growth of possible relationships, discourage hidden agendas, and promote good faith negotiations” (Worth, p.211). The public needs to be able to trust that WikiLeaks is not manipulating information from their media outlets when they disclose their stories. The internal staff also needs to be trusting of one another to be accurate and honest with all the information they have access to. Their main goal is to tell the public about news that has been restricted, so trust will always be a vital aspect of WikiLeaks mission and goals.

WikiLeaks is a unique company and many organization are not too fond of them because they continue to release information that some organizations to not desire to be public knowledge. Although they are not a Christian organization, I do believe they are doing the right thing for the most part. I believe no information, whether it’s about war, political corruption, or restaurant malfunctions should be hidden from the public because it is of public concern. So I hope that WikiLeaks continues to be motivated by releasing the truth and letting the public know as much as they can of what is going on in our world.

I would agree to you that the media has a big impact on a lot of people. They influence the way we view government, religion, the world, etc... It is a shame that their influence has directly impacted the culture to hang up their Bible and settle for co-existence. In the process they have and are still scrubbing every public building or place of Christianity. I'm surprised they haven't removed crosses from cemeteries because it offends someone. No matter what they remove or try to erase from history, God will always prevail.

I completely understand where you are coming from when you say you are afraid to share the gospel with someone. Just know we all experience fear at some point so don't feel embarrassed. I think everyone at some point in their life has had to overcome the fear of sharing their faith. Let me encourage you to continue in your studies and to continue to develop your passion for Christ. Ultimately it is Christ that will bring you through this fear. A good idea to overcome this fear would be to practice sharing the gospel with a Christian friend or family member. Make it someone you trust and you know will want to see you succeed in this area. They can pretend to be unsaved and ask questions, while you practice sharing the gospel with them. This will help you to build your confidence and help prepare you for questions unsaved people will ask. As the old sports saying goes, practice how your going to play. I hope this will be something you will consider and I look forward to your growth as a Christian.
