Based upon Scotts background information, he is a 6-year-old and is always moving. Scoot should be given the Conners – 3rd edition testing based upon his aggressive and disruptive behavior. He is also constantly moving in the classroom or when he is in public. Scott also stop taking naps at 2 and half years old. This test can be administered at the age of 6. This test will help measures attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and other common disorders/common problems that is associated with Scott. Conners -3rd edition assess learning problems, aggression and problems with peer/family relations. Makes use of 3 separate scores self-report, parent report and teacher report. This way everyone can get a report that will help Scott soon.

The second test that should be administered to Scott should be the Woodcocks Johnson III, this test will help measures Scotts strength and weakness in all areas. This testy will also pinpoint Scotts learning problems, so that teachers and parents can best understand where to place him. Even though Scott has a problem sitting still this test can be taking over time. For example, in the reading section select a short passage at Scott’s instructional level and set an oral reading rate criterion. Determine the criterion by timing Scott for 1 minute and then counting how many correct words Scott reads. After have Scott reread the passage but only in given chunks because Scott has problems sitting still at times.

It is important to understand Scott behavior. The brain power is there but the teachers must understand how to administer and learn how to students like Scott understand how to learn the class material. The best policy a teacher can have for teaching a student like Scott, to have a lot patient, consistency and creativity. It I s not easy to work with students like Scott but it is rewarding to find a way to help Scott and his parents better understand how to help Scott become the best possible student.
