Thesis:

The western culture and civilization have known to be a violent one from then history. There is fact, structures, myths that are associated with that are depicted in the past through various media.

Main points

There has always been incorporation that was set in place, but the Westerners had their ways of going back to violent methods of solving issues. According to the author, nonviolent means such as legislation, administration or court ruling were overlooked in most cases (Brown, 6). The role played by women in the American civil wars over the years is overlooked according to the author (Brown, 17). In very few instances there is a mention of the women character in these stories. The role played by information materials such as novels, and the films that depict Western heroes through gunfights do not display the right, true events.

Evidence:

The author holds a record of about forty-two episodes of violence in the Western Civil War of Incorporation (mentions that 42 is an undercount) (Brown, 6). Two female novelists have a concern too as for how the contribution of women is treated in the American civil war. Movies such as High Noon and Shane are some of the dramatization that has tried to capture the violent past in the West and how the heroes in the movies applied Orthodox violent means to restore peace.

Personal assessment.

The article looks at the good the bad and ugly of the Western violence. There is an in-depth analysis of the violence and the things that contributed to the start and the end of these wars. There is also the influence of the war on recent events.
