Nayyer Industries (PVT) LDT is a Pakistan based company that deals in carpets (Nayyer Industries staff, 2016). The company has developed specific generic strategies that have placed the organization at a competitive advantage. Using the cost leadership strategy, the company can eliminate the manual ordering process of raw materials. This is believed to help the company in cutting a considerable cost of production, therefore, making it enjoy the economies of scale. The company can also leverage the suppliers. That is, the company can scrutinize different materials from different suppliers to determine the supplier with the lowest cost of raw materials that can produce a considerable quality of carpets (Nayyer Industries staff, 2016). Leveraging suppliers will reduce the cost of acquisition of quality raw materials.

Nayyer Industries (PVT) LDT can use the differentiation strategies in its manufacture and marketing operations (Dobbs, 2015). The company can tailor-made some carpets to suit the customers’ needs. The company can also introduce carpets with different artistic designs and colors. This is believed to make its products conspicuous; therefore arousing the customers to buy more.

The company can also use focus strategy in its operation. Here, the organization will have to come up with the target market segment (Rothaermel, 2015). The company can consider introducing carpets that will be used by certain groups in the entire market. Children, for example, require carpets that are colorful. The company can introduce this line of focus to catch that specific market. By concentrating within this narrow market segment will be a big attempt to gaining either differentiation or a cost advantage.
