Assignment | Unit 1 For Unit 1 Assignment, prepare a 350–500 word persuasive memo to your supervisor requesting that your company sponsor you individually in a business writing course that is available at the local university. If you are not currently working, you may create a fictitious company, supervisor, and position for yourself. In your memo, provide your supervisor with the following: C hecklist: • J ustify taking this course; include an outline of the benefits the company will receiv e f rom your participation in such an effort.

• I nclude the amount of money you are seeking, • S pecify how long the course will take you to complete, and how your time spentcompleting the course will impact your performance at work.

• F urther guidelines for writing the persuasive memo are posted in Doc Sharing, label ed “ Unit1 Memo Template.” This Funding Memo is due by the end of Unit 1.

D irections for Submitting your Assignment Complete the funding memo as an MS Word document. Save it in a location with a title you will remember and that includes your name. To submit, go to the Dropbox and click on the Unit 1: Funding Memo link and follow the instructions. Make sure that you save a copy of the paper you submit. Serious grammatical errors include sentence errors – fragments, run -on sentences, comma splices. Further, errors in coherence, punctuation, organization, and logic have the potential to earn a grade of 0.

Such errors present a serious obstacle in conveying your ideas and submissions containing such errors cannot earn a passing grade. At the professor’s discretion, revisions may be permitted. **Any proposal found to contain more than 15% dir ect quote will be s ubject to scrutiny for violation of university ’s Policy of Academic Integrity and point deduction could be s ubstantially higher depending upon the prevalence of direct quote. Any submission that is plagiarized or otherwise violates academic integrity will earn a grade of “0” and the incident will be r eported to the Provost’s Office. A ny submission that fails to address the topic given or the assignment goal will earn a grade of 0 and/or a request for revision by the instructor.
