    1. Project title: New Web Based Tool

    1. High-level project scope ( fewer than 50 words)

A new performance management process will be created that utilizes a web-based system; providing a convenient way to document and track employee performance goals, provide regularly updated status reports, and a vehicle for managerial feedback. The system will use quantified data for salary/bonus treatment at year’s end.

    1. Problem to be solved or opportunity to be realized by this project (fewer than 25 words)

The new performance management system will provide an efficient way to quantify employee performance; providing a fairer, more accurate system for performance appraisals.

    1. Project purpose or justification including specific measurable business impacts or results (fewer than 50 words)

The new performance management system is needed because of the lack of accuracy in past employee performance reviews and merit increases. The new system will provide both qualitative and quantitative data metric data, which will result in providing more precise analysis of employee work performance.

    1. Measurable project objectives and related success criteria including metrics (Provide three to four objectives with metrics)

  • Determine which performance measuring criteria should be implemented into the new system, and describe how the system utilizes it.

  • Develop performance management system platform

  • Integrate system into company website

  • Achieve increased employee performance of at least 15% within 12 months of implementation.

    1. High-level requirements (fewer than 100 words)

The performance management system project will require a hand-selected project team with extensive background in human resources and supervisory management. Two human resource clerks will participate, in addition to a single project manager. The team will also require the services of a software development consultant and her team of two software engineers. The project will be staged in a small suite of offices on the third-floor of the downtown Seattle office. The project will require the purchase of a new web server, and dedicated internet connection during preliminary stages prior to implementation in a production environment.

    1. High-level risks (fewer than 100 words)

Some high-level risks include: developmental delays, scope creep, excessive change requests, technical difficulties, lack of employee enthusiasm for new performance system.
