BRIEF IN SUPPORT OF ALVIN SINGER’S COMPLAINT FOR COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT AGAINST SIMON SINGER

Summary of the Facts:

Simon and Alvin wrote, recorded and performed several songs together over the span of ten years. They were joint owners of the copyright in the songs. They break up their duo and each started pursuing solo careers. Simon re-releases the first song he and Alvin did together, 11 years after its first release. Alvin Singer is pursuing a claim for copyright infringement against Simon Singer for re-recording and re-releasing the song without his permission for the following reasons.
