FULL TEXT A jury has held the McDonald's Corporation liable for a fatal traffic accident caused by an employee who fell asleep at the wheel after working all night. The Multnomah County Circuit Court jury awarded Frederic M. Faverty $400,000 on Friday for severe leg injuries he suffered when his car was struck by one driven by the McDonald's worker. The worker, Matthew A. Theurer, 18 years old, was killed in the accident. His estate was not involved in the suit. Jurors awarded Mr. Faverty $170,000 for medical expenses and lost wages and $230,000 in general damages, saying McDonald's was negligent for letting Mr. Theurer work too many hours without rest.
