In the recent past, there have been major developments in the utilization of the internet-based media. The trend is changing the shape of the media greatly. Ideally, the internet or web-based media takes the three forms; electronic magazines, E-mail newsletters, and News sites. Based on the various developments and improvements witnessed in media during the internet era, this paper strives to explore on how internet-based media has revolved it impacts to the society at large. To answer the changing trends in the internet media, the paper relies on different articles to effectively investigate the phenomenon.

Ability of Individuals to Mitigate the Psychological Impact Psychological Influences of their Daily Lives

The article offers the conceptual, theoretical framework to investigate the terms "social" as used in the social media context. This article is relevant to the exploration of the internet-based research because it elaborates the relationship between the three central terms used in the media; information, interactivity, and sociability. The model describing the three terms depict that only users of the social media decide which information to share and which social media platform to use. This means that the ability of the people to rely on the internet-based media is not determined by the availability of the technological features associated with a particular social media platform but rather psychological perception about the information and their preferred social platform.

This study relied on Facebook to collect data that was used to determine attention-seeking behavior among the social media users. The researcher goes further to investigate social behavior by exploring the connection between social media and attention-seeking behavior. With the increased internet speed social media is largely replacing the interpersonal face to face communication. Understanding the Evolving Nature of Media Sources

This study is largely rooted in determining the how individuals uses technology to advance internet-based media. The article tries to justify the advantages of having the internet base media among the users. In the discussion, the article utilizes a multidisciplinary concept to validate the role of social media in the development of media. The survey is the major data collection method employed in the study, and it shows that reliance on the social media has psychologically implicated the users to believe that internet-based media can be more reliable than the traditional based media. Finally, the author concludes by discussing results, implications, demerits recommendations as well as research directions.

Analyzing Modern Trends of the Media

The article discusses how technology has been impactful in changing media in the modern world. The authors of the article emphasize more on the mobile devices as the channels of advancing the internet-based media. The article commences by providing the theoretical background that comprises a discussion of mobile phone appropriation model, ecological perspective on mobile internet and theoretical on internet use and research questions. The article goes further to discuss the methodology used in the study that is based on sampling that comprised of the college students, data collection that was largely based on the semi-structured interviews and data analysis. Finally, the article provides results that are focused defining the mobile internet, characteristics of the mobile internet, and mobile internet handling and usage.

This article offers the researcher with the right and appropriate information about the connection between mobile internet based-media that has been brought up by the new technology. To discuss the phenomenon affectively, the article relies on the Mobile Phone Appropriation Model. This model helps the authors to understand and conceptualize how people use the internet. Theories on Psychological Influences of the Media

The article expounds on what the media is and its impact on the society. For the discussion on the influence of media on the society, the article focuses on determining the impacts of media at the personal level, family level and at the society at large. According to the authors of this article, mass media is a major source of information in the society. In the democratic society, mass media can be used to bring change. Through mass media, the world has become smaller, and individuals can access information at any time. The exposure to media especially the internet based one changes the peoples’ beliefs or behavior (Mehraj, Bhat, & Mehraj, 2014). The authors based this argument of the change theories that show a correlation between the media influence and change on individual believes or behavior. For example, in currently, there have been a lot of studies associated with the women body image and moods change because of the Facebook influence.

Understanding Independent and Dependent Nature of Media Sources

This article investigates the impact of the new internet-based media on the print media in the Malaysian context. The study found that there has been a decline in the consumption of the print media products, especially among the young people. Besides, even the older people prefer to read newspapers online instead of relying on the printed products.

The innovation and introduction of the pervasive technology on the traditional mass media have been perceived differently.
