Marriott International Inc. is one of the leading global lodgings, having more than six thousand properties in a total of a hundred and twenty two countries. Despite the fact that the company generates billions of dollars’ worth of profits every year, it still operates in a very competitive market. For it to remain in the lead, therefore, strategies have to be put in place to standardize the cost of the various products (Barnes, 2014).

Marriott’s global strategy is to expand to more countries around the world. With its distribution and marketing program alongside flexible and fewer brand standards, the company will experience tremendous growth in the years ahead. In fact, the company’s operating systems margins are attracting international developers (Barnes, 2014).

To ensure continued success, Marriott’s managers have to examine and implement the strategies that are used in the 10 strategic decision sectors of operations management. These areas relate to the primary decisions that are used for managing all streamlined productivity and operations that efficiently address the organization’s business objectives and goals (Zhu, 2014). Marriott’s operations management should take into consideration total quality management and product development as some of the most critical variables in the ten strategic decision areas. By focusing on the quality of service rendered, the company will be in a better position to maintain the lead position among its competitors. Product development is also another critical area. The organization should aim at providing a new value for customers, an improved society and an ongoing existence of the company (Zhu, 2014).

Lastly, I think that the final project on matters such as operations management, quality improvement and strategic performance would apply perfectly to Marriott International Inc. This is because, being a leading company globally, exploring the mentioned topics will help the company to expand its productivity.
