Text Version Preface to the Civil War

Note: This is a text version of Preface to the Civil War. If you are able to complete the Flash version, you do not need to complete this activity.

Directions

You have been asked to create a slide presentation that explains the events leading up to the Civil War. Someone else started the work, but never finished it.

Fortunately, the pictures are all there, but the captions are incomplete. Each needs more detail. Your task is to provide the information needed to complete each caption and explain the event and connect it to the path to secession.

Use the On the Track to War time line from the previous lesson and the textbook to help you complete each caption. The caption for the first slide is already complete as an example of the kind of information you should provide.
