PLEASE HELP

To complete this assignment, you will need: To use ESCI, as well as the dataset included in the folder for A07.

Format: Students may: (a) Print out A07 and write answers directly on it, or (b) Type answers to A07 directly on it and then print it out.; either way, please make sure that your assignments are legible and easy to follow. Students who submit messy and/or poorly organized assignments often lose points. When submitting paper assignments, please staple any work with multiple pages.

• A researcher collected data from eight participants on their ratings of satisfaction with their neighborhood and an index of racial/ethnic neighborhood diversity. Neighborhood satisfaction was measured on a 1 to 4 scale (1 = extremely dissatisfied and 4 = extremely satisfied). Neighborhood diversity was measured on a 1 to 6 scale (1 = no diversity and 6 = extreme diversity). For this question, calculate the answers yourself, using either Excel or a calculator and nothing else.

• Compute average and 95% CI for each variable.

• Compute standard deviations for each variable.

• Compute z scores for each participant for each measure.

• Calculate the correlation between Neighborhood Satisfaction and Neighborhood Diversity. Do this ‘by hand’ (step by step).

• Repeat Question 1 using ESCI.

• From ESCI, copy-&-paste a scatterplot of the data in the space below:

• Report the mean and 95% CI for each variable.

• Report the standard deviation for each variable.

• Report the correlation between the variables along with its 95% CI.

• Write a brief results section interpreting your results.

• Paragraph 1 should provide basic descriptive statistics (i.e., the mean and standard deviation): report these and give context (e.g., relative to the theoretical range).

• Paragraph 2 should give the correlation and its CI as well. Give a plain English interpretation of what this means.

• Paragraph 2 should conclude with any cautions about the correlation: Is interpretation of this correlation clouded by restriction of range and/or outlier problems?
