Discussion Board – Instruction and Grading Rubric

To help ensure that students are understanding and are engaged with the course material students are required to provide four (4) Discussion Board postings throughout the eight (8) week course. (In addition, the student should provide a post with a short bio as an informal introduction of him/herself to the instructor and other students.)

Discussion Board posts are a great way to demonstrate understanding of the material. Additionally, communicating with fellow students by reading and responding to each other’s posts is the best way to promote learning and provoke insightful thoughts to the material.

Discussion questions are posted under the “Discussion Board” tab on the course Bb shell. The discussion questions are based upon the assigned text readings for that two-week period. You will need to post your first response to the discussion question by the end of the two-week period on the day and time indicated on the course schedule. Each forum will be worth twenty (20) points for a total of eighty (80) points possible for the course.

The grading rubric for discussion board postings is shown below.
