Effects of Media Bias

Essay 3

Media bias is delegated as the ken bias of journalist and news manufactures around the mass media in the choosing of occurrences and tales that are announced and how they are reported. Currently, there are many complains about media bias effects, ideologies from many pieces of research reflect that the different forms of media bias have affected the minds of the audience to a great range (Hammersley, Martyn P. 130-207). For this case, there are different types of media bias which have led to several effects to their viewers; these types include religious bias, information bias, corporate bias, sensation bias, advertisement bias, and gate-keeping bias. Each of these examples has led to effects like ignorance and emotion over intelligence ability and regarded activity, a load of free publicity, unfriendly working environments, and unfavorable reports when media is not in good terms with an event and the last effect of contradicting opinions. This paper aims at discussing the effects of media bias in essay 3 and thereafter a proposed solution in essay 4.

First and foremost, media bias has supported ignorance and emotion over understanding and regarded activities because the currents status show that most people are not aggressive at making their own ideas but they derive ideas from what they see from the media. However, people have grown to be reluctant and these actions have really affected their level of understanding. To some extent, most viewers are currently not dedicated to using their own knowledge to achieve their goals but rather to use the media news that ends up misleading their events.

Secondly, media bias has affected working environments. There is clear evidence in that most workers are currently engaged to media news and they have a lot of information of what they see daily (Thomas P. 220-231). The information’s they capture from the media they have transferred it to the working environments where they spend a lot of time arguing on things that do not concern their work. Members grow to be reluctant because of them use a lot of their time watching videos and observing what the media place in most channels and this has lead to misunderstanding among workers. Therefore, the environments develop to be hostile with many disputes, bad behaviors, and misunderstanding.

Unfavorable reports are the other effects of media bias. Media is associated with propaganda, uninformed bias, and beliefs. According to Kenney, when dislikes someone it definitely shares unfavorable ideas about that person. On the side of belief bias media is associated with apparent texts such as a tendency to report the specific news. In the real sense, media aims at destructing stories in order to capture the attention of many viewers and it is displayed back in unchangeable judgment manner. Reviewed articles claim that media can have adverse judgment towards liberal ad traditionalists. Traditionalists argue that liberal journalists are to a great degree characterized to their responsible liberal assumptions in the news they recount. This effect has developed from the fact that other news declare that conservative’s reporters take minors issues, overstate it or punch it to imaginary statements. All this display how media bias is a great effect in producing unfavorable reports to the public (Mahwah, Erlbaum P 110-140).

The effect of conflicting opinions has greatly influenced the lives of many people since media bias is a systematic, continuous unbalanced in mainstreaming news coverage for the intention of manipulating opinions on bigger issues. Children have also failed because they make wrong decisions from the ideas they see from the media. From example, watching most gay videos has greatly influenced the social lives of youths. Challenges develop when these opinions are changed since there is no justness on what to choose and make the right development. The blame will remain to be on the side of media bias because they report news narratives in an incomplete and unjust way.

Lastly, is the effect of a load of free publicity whereby news media networks impact the public concerns in politics by revealing to people what they need them to see. This effect is more concerned with displaying what seems important and overlooking it so that viewers can perceive it in a different manner and not the way it should be. Media bias, therefore, leads to overall effect when viewers observe these crucial channels or get information from other media sources.
