Ideas driven from reviewed journals show that sewage water is wastewater that comes from people who live within a community and it is generated from families after it has been subjected to distinct uses like washing utensils, washing clothes and flushing toilets. The wastewater is therefore transported into far constructed sewers using pipes that are placed during plumbing. The water found in these sewages is grey and black water. Whereby the grey water is formed after washing dishes or laundry, while the black water is involved wastes from toilets like sanitary towels and papers (Kennedy, 2012). However, this essay aim at discussing the main sustainability issues of sewage water, under the approach of the three pillars and lastly explain the benefits of in terms of the three pillars.

First and foremost, sewage water impacts the environment, social and economic sectors in case old pipes are not well monitored. Failing to monitor theses pipes can lead to their breakage and cause great damages to the environment and also impact social life and economic activities. Another factor that has led to sewage water is less awareness in the society whereby people are throwing wastes everywhere without realizing the impact they are creating to the sewage system. For example, it is explained that about 2 Kgs of plastic bags and plastic bottles are produced every year and 70 percent of these wastes are dumped improperly.

However, sewage water has great impacts on the environments, people and the economy and therefore serious measures should be taken to control these effects. A reviewed journal show that sewage water should be treated before it is released to the environment because if it is not well treated, it can pollute water and damage large numbers of living things. For example, In September huge amounts of fish were killed after River Estuary was polluted with sewage water. The contamination led to diseases that infected the fish and brought them to death (Agrawal & Gopal, 2013). Other plastics fibers and fats from the, when washed away to water bodies, are also associated with less air circulation and this also affects the lives of aquatic organism.

Moreover, sewage water has a great impact on human beings when toxic substances from the polluted water enter their bodies. This occurs when people consume foods contaminated with disease-causing bacteria hence causing them to suffer from severe illnesses.

Additionally, sewage water has led to great economic losses because when some waste particles enter to beaches, they contaminate them resulting in loss of tourists, and increase cost when treating and removing the debris. Such outcomes have lowered the economic growth since those sectors are not suitable for tourist.

To improve sustainability in sewage water impacts on the environment, people and economy, it is important to treat water before disposing of in it to the environment. These treatments can be achieved through physical, biological and chemical processes in order to remove most of the pollutants from the water. Sewage treatment plant is crucial to the three pillars because the plant neutralizes and makes some chemicals present in water to be less active. Through these, the water becomes safe to release again to the environment and applied to different sectors for use. When the water flows to the ocean after treatment does not have any impact on living organisms. Hence the environmental benefits in that it can restore wetlands and treat wastes generated from hum before the natural water paths are contaminated.

On the other hand, the water is safe when used by human beings because toxic substances are not present and other harmful diseases that can cause illness. People benefit from the treated water in that they can use it in fulfilling other purposes like irrigating crops and other green zones (Sheng & Wang, 2014). The economy also will gain more benefits if the water is treated since no debris will be found in beaches where tourist visits and generate incomes. More fish will be available in oceans and fishing will take place and boost the economy.

Nevertheless, it is recommended that if sewage water systems are well managed, no sewage water will enter the environment and cause the disastrous impacts. Moreover, if the treatment plants processes are well applied, water in other water resources will not receive pollutants from the wastewater and therefore, no living organisms like fish will not be affected. Additionally, if laws are put forward people will not dump wastes everywhere and therefore most sewage systems will not block and contribute to bad smells and about 1000 people will benefit from the treated water. Fourthly, if society becomes aware of the effects they may face from the contaminated wastewater, then beaches should be kept clean for the benefit of boosting the economy. Lastly, since fishing activities are important for human consumption and for economic growth, it is recommended that sewage water should be treated before disposing of in oceans to end the death of these organisms (Jenkins, 2013). In summary, if all these actions are taken, sewage water will not a big issue to the three pillars and they will benefit the current and future generation.
