SWOT Analysis

SWOT Analysis

In the BlueShield Company procedures followed were mainly granted and modeled by the training programs offered by the company as well as our education system. This allows for the company to therefore, be a better organization. However, the models we learned are not applicable in reality. We, therefore, have to plan in order to be well prepared (Leiber et al., 2018).

Planning mainly constitutes analyzing our organization. In this, the planning will have to consider the last place of our organization and its future. The organization has to be inspected to find out its strengths, weaknesses, possible threats, as well as the available opportunities in order for it to be successful (Menga et al., 2015).

Objectives

The main objective of this SWOT analysis is to state the main ambition of BlueShield company and inspect the weaknesses, possible opportunities as well as threats that would deter the company from achieving its set goal. The analysis would also outline the present state of the company and its future.

Strengths

Weaknesses

  • The professional staff is engaged in the company.

  • There is a huge number of employees in the company.

  • Unskilled labor force to supplement the number of employees.

  • Employees focus more on the output, they therefore, make errors which lead to clients’ dissatisfaction. This action will cost the company and can cost them dearly.

  • Customers who visit the company per year are almost close to 120 million which is a good number.

  • Collaborations with other companies have always been strong.

  • The process of supplying facilities by the company is realized by courier vehicles.

  • Outreach programs in society are strengthened in the company’s welfare activities.

  • The company has many departmental divisions because of work specialization of employees.

  • Data infringement in the company which occurred during November 2018.

  • The services offered to customers are wanting since clients’ data is shared amongst others.

Opportunities

  • Recruitment programs in colleges to seek professionals in the company and in data systems.

  • Engagement with a company of data system so that they can perform audits of risks and whether the systems are security compliant.

Threats

  • Being excluded from the programs of the state, due to abuse of regulations.

  • Failure to get new clients or to retain the existing ones in the company.

  • Increased rate of competition from other competing firms.

Priorities

The strategies set by a given organization usually display the set goals of the firm and the reasons for realizing them. The process of strategic planning constitutes of the planner, the goal and how best to achieve it. Actions have to be done specifically for the attainment of the goal. These actions constitute what is to be performed, the manner it will be performed and which tools as well as human resources that will be used to achieve the goal (Korableva & Kalimullina, 2016).

BlueShield company has to make alterations in its operations so that its plans can go well and the goal of the company will be achieved. To begin with, new tactics have to be employed so as to reduce the potentialities of data infringement, the cost of property and errors in the output. Having been breached during November 2018, the company has to ensure its customers and service provider’s data is well secured and confidential. By this, graduates of information technology in colleges should be employed so as to ensure the information system of the company is secure.

Building trust in the company's customers is mainly the road to retaining the customers as well as getting new ones. BlueShield Company should ensure the customers demand to equalize with the need of professionals that are skilled. The number of employees employed should be increased so as to meet the demand from the client and thus increase the competitiveness of the company (Aithal, 2016). The company should also value their employees, in return, employees will provide good services to the clients of the company.

Conclusion

To sum it up, after looking at my company, I have found out that the company has strengths as well as areas that need improvement. For BlueShield Company to prevail and obtain profits in many years, risks have to be taken. The company will have to put an end to data breaches. To achieve this, professionals who have graduated from colleges will have to be hired. This will aid in securing clients' data as well as the data of service providers. The company should also ensure employees are empowered (Gürel & Tat, 2017). Valuing of employees goes hand in hand with good customer service. The demand from customers should fairly be distributed amongst employees to ensure that all needs are met. The number of employees should thus meet the needs of the company’s customers.
