Explain your progress on completing your Milestone 3 assignment.

Milestone 3 is going to focus on medication errors. My progress on this milestone has quite been challenging and intriguing at the same time. Medication errors have become a topic of the day in very healthcare facility. In completing milestone 3, I had to undertake various projects. First, I had to conduct a thorough research on medication errors. The research was meant to identify the origin of medication errors, their development, their causes and the possible mitigation strategies that have been implemented to control medication errors. Secondly, I had to interview some people such as the nurses to identify their role in the quality improvement process. Additionally, I had to do some research with the aim of identifying effective processes and strategies to improve quality in nursing. I issued various questionnaires to some health care providers to ensure that data on effective medication was gathered. Specifically, the caregivers responding to the questionnaires were supposed to identify the methods and strategies they apply in preventing medication errors, their understanding of medication errors, and whether there is reliable information among the patients regarding medication errors. Completing milestone 3 was quite a challenging task but due to the knowledge and skills I have acquired in my course, I did everything effectively. Medication errors have now become very common but through collaboration between the patients, caregivers and the healthcare administration, they can be controlled effectively. Medication errors can be controlled as they call for quality care which starts with the nurses. Nurses ought to be more vigilant foe medications errors to be controlled adequately.

Ask at least one question of your instructor that could help you do your best on Milestone 3.

What is the main cause of medication errors?
Can patients control medication errors?
