MRKT605 Midterm Exam Fall 2019 Instructions


Attached is the Midterm Examination for MRKT605. You are to respond to all the questions and each part of each question. Each question has a similar weight noted at the end of the question. This is a take home exam. You may use any, and all, materials. You may discuss the questions with other students in the class but the answers must be your own. No group answers will be permitted.


The questions are designed to test your understanding of the course material and your ability to apply the theories and concepts discussed. Read the questions carefully and be sure to address what is being asked. All answers must be directly related to the products, services or cases you choose as example. Be sure to do so as it will be considered in the grade.


Do not copy the questions, all answers are to be formatted double-spaced and in 10 point type or larger for 8.5" x 11" paper in Word. You are to number the pages of your exam and put your name and course number on the first page and in the document identification. Each answer should have a maximum extension of 1 page. There is a strict page limitation and any material over the page limitation will not be read. Each question has a weight of 20. You are to upload your exam to your assignment folder no later than midnight of Sunday, October 20.

  1. An executive is undecided whether to rely on in-house or external export specialists/intermediaries in the home country. He is leaning towards direct representation in a market. What are the benefits of going forth with direct representation? Give an example to support your answer
