NOTE

Negative and positive impacts of Social media

Lin et al., (2016) say "The Internet could change the lives of normal residents as much as did the phone in the early piece of the twentieth century and TV during the 1950s and 1960s." Technology has been developing at a galactic rate. It has truly assumed control over the lives of numerous youngsters and youthful grown-ups. Presently ask yourself this (Lin et al., 2016). Have you at any point been out and seen gatherings of individuals with family or companions and are more into their gadgets than the social communications at the table? It is a fact to say that Social media has both sides of a coin i.e. bad and good when it comes to the impacts it has had on the lives of young adults, parents, or teens.

Cyber bullying in social media has led to detachment of teenagers socially. For instance, "digital harassing has to a great extent similar forerunners and conduct, enthusiastic, and full of feeling results as does a non-digital tormenting," Healy says "However the thing that matters is the 'more'— that is, online life takes into account more contact, more correspondence, and in a progressively open way." In such an occasion, mostly the individual being harassed can keep oneself away from the society, in any event briefly. Since people nowadays spent most of their time online, cyber bullying may be rampant such that it promotes low self-esteem on the victims who end up feeling unwanted by the actual society.

Social media has ruined family relationships and friendships. At eateries, we have seen gathering of companions or a family together messaging and looking over away on their telephones engaging in social media (Thomas et al., 2017). About half (44%) state they get disappointed with their companions for being on their telephones when they're hanging out together, yet a significantly more noteworthy extent (54%) concede that they get diverted by web based life when they ought to be giving more consideration to the individuals that they're with"(Thomas et al., 2017). Social media has become a nemesis to the family and friends relations.

It has hijacked the time teenagers have in real life. They spent most of their time in the virtual world. All the times, youths spent almost all the day chatting or posting at the numerous social media accounts which are available at huge numbers. It has engulfed the real life and the real life doesn’t matter anymore more than the virtual social media life (Bailey Parnell, June 22 2017).

On the other hand, social media it has impacted positively elevated on how teens or parents feel. As indicated by Trinity Grammar School (2018), "Web-based social networking use invigorates the creation of oxytocin which lessens feelings of anxiety and advances sentiments of joy. Online associations are regularly a lot simpler than associating face to face – they expect practically no feeling and are less requesting. The prize and bliss we get from preferences and constructive remarks are regularly the aftereffect of next to no exertion and time." It has promoted good feeling among them.

Social media can rebuild past relationships. It can be advantageous for contact with long-separation loved ones. Online networking can give associations of the past (Fergie et al., 2016). Social media can bring friends together who parted many years in the past by reminiscing on the good networks they had in the past.

In conclusion, despite the good things that social media has come with, it has in a larger extent brought negative impacts. Its bad side overrides the good in the lives of young adults, parents, or teens. It is therefore important that the affecting young adults, parents, or teens beware of the negative impacts it has on their lives in order to use the platforms for their good (Bailey Parnell, June 22 2017).
