Analysis and Interpretation of Data (45 Points Total)

Question 1 – What year did you move to your current home? (5 Pts)

What is the insight or main takeaway from this data?

(1-2 sentence minimum)

The insight that I got is that the mass majority of people moved into their current home in 2016. Another info from this data is that a lot of people have moved into their current home recently over the last 5 years compared to the other years prior.

How will you visualize the information?

  • Column Graph

  • Pie Graph

  • Bar Graph

  • Line Graph

  • Stacked Graph

  • Word Cloud

  • Other

I would visualize the information in the form of a column graph.

Why did you choose that option to visualize the data?

(3 sentence minimum)

I chose a column graph to visualize the data simply because I would like to show the highest year in a bar form. This will determine and show the number of people who recently moved compared to the other years entered. This graph will also show the data from the first year entered to 2020 in order.

Question 2 – What is your zip code? (5 Pts)

What is the insight or main takeaway from this data?

(1-2 sentence minimum)

The insight that I got from this data is that most of the people have the same zip code of 32806 out of all the others in this data. I also noticed there were only about 8 zip codes that were listed. Another part that I got is that there is almost a close tie to two zip codes of the same amount of people in each.

How will you visualize the information?

  • Column Graph

  • Pie Graph

  • Bar Graph

  • Line Graph

  • Stacked Graph

  • Word Cloud

  • Other

I would visualize the information in the form of a bar graph.

Why did you choose that option to visualize the data?

(3 sentence minimum)

I chose the bar graph to visualize the data because there are only 8 different zip codes and I think a bar graph would fit for this type of data. I also think I can use a different color the most people who have the same zip codes from the others. This bar graph will highlight the most zip codes people have versus the other ones that do not compare the most zip codes used. I also visualize this data from the smallest number to the highest number in a bar graph form. That will give my data an even bar graph form with the numbers.

Question 3 – Has there been any change in who lives in your neighborhood If so, what changes? (5 Pts)

What is the insight or main takeaway?

(1-2 sentence minimum)

The insight I got from this data is the biggest change in who lives in the neighborhood, which is younger families moving in. Many people had multiple answers in one, but the majority of this data had younger families moving into their neighborhood than any other type of individuals. Another insight I got was there were many who answered that there has not been any change in who lives in their neighborhood. Leaving these two answers with the highest data than any other.

What type of graph would you use?

  • Column Graph

  • Pie Graph

  • Bar Graph

  • Line Graph

  • Stacked Graph

  • Word Cloud

  • Other

There is a ton of words in this data. At this time, I am not sure of what graph to do. However, I do know that I want to highlight the most answered data of younger families moving in versus the non-answered. So, I am unsure of how to graph that at this time. I do know that the graph I plan on not using for this data is a column, bar, or stacked graph. I may do a yes or no graph which may include either a line graph or a pie graph to justify a yes or no of the question: Has there been any change in who lives in your neighborhood.

Why did you choose that option to visualize the data?

(3 sentence minimum)

Again, I am unsure of the graph I want to use at this time. I played around with different graphs, but I am still unsure of what graph to use. I am leaning towards a pie graph to justify a yes or no answer to the change in the neighborhood. I may also do a line graph showing the data of most people stating, “younger families are moving in” versus “no”. Since there are a lot of people who answered random different answers, so I could categorize this data as “other”. I do not think the random answers need to be included, and I could justify the data as “other”. However, this is still data, so again, I am still unsure of the graph I will go with. I have to pay around a little more and come up with a solution.

I chose a Stacked Column Graph, you use this graph to collect data, or information, by asking people question. My biggest takeaway about this is the fact that there are various mixed opinions. Some people think that the roadway has been improved, others think is a mess, and some are giving suggestions on how to make it better than it currently is. There are some that reminds them of Retro Orlando while others mentioned that it is still on a working progress.

Two Variable Analysis (24 Points Total)

What are your two variables?

While the ones that moved on 2016 reminded them about Retro Orlando, the others from 2000 and above gave a majority of positive opinions.

What would you recommend to the city planners based on this information?

(4-5 sentence minimum)

City planners need to analyze this information based on what areas they need to focus on for improvement. It is clear that while some people do not notice any changes, there are others who would love to see any alternatives or modifications to make those area better than they currently are. However, there are some issues that cannot be avoidable such as new businesses opening as well too much traffic on the roads. But it is always important to consider the social and physical environment of the areas and thinking about the big picture.

Three Recommendations for City Planners (24 Points Total)

Recommendation #1

(3 sentence minimum)

The course of action that I would suggest to city planners based on the results survey is to give those who live in the neighborhood what they want. If 85% of the survey suggests that they would like to see more families being together with bringing the community together then delivery. As the duty of a city planner when giving different surveys and wanting results expect people who participated to keep up with the process. Hence, my recommendation for city planners is to deliver the results in surveys with the participation process and not just get the hopes up of the neighborhood.

Recommendation #2

(3 sentence minimum)

The Curry Ford Road community is very proud of their neighborhood and want to ensure the foundation of this healthy, vibrant area in their city remains a strong neighborhood and great place to live. Some recommendations can be for new road treatments, bike lanes, and levels of development intensity. Also, I suggest continuing to strive for future growth while protecting the existing character of the neighborhood and providing for long-term stability for residents, visitors and businesses.

Recommendation #3

(3 sentence minimum)

City planners should analyze on what the audience would wish to see within the community based on their selection of preferences to bring a better source of positivity towards them. It is essential to consider what changes the people have noticed in their neighborhood condition and seek for ways to prevent those concerns. A good planner must know the community they work for and have a prominent visual thinking, so my best suggestion is to keep seeking for feedback to see what improvements they would wish to see.
