India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world and is the second most populous nation. New Delhi is the capital of India and also a union territory. The average person spends Rs.130 on the coffee which is equivalent to 2.40 CAD. Population of Delhi is approximately 21.75 million so there is a huge market to cover. There is a huge market to cover if company becomes successful to grab the consumer attention then the company can also set up its branches in other places in India. 

There are three major competitors that Tim Hortons need to compete those are Starbucks, Cafe Coffee Day and Coffee Bean and they all are working well. Cafe Coffee Day is the biggest coffee chain in India which knows the local market well. The plan is to open the premium outlet at Connaught Place which is the downtown of Delhi. The GDP of India is improvising every year which means the capacity of the consumer also increases to spend their money in the market. The main objective of the company will be grab the customer attention whereas in New Delhi the young generation prefer to give a try to new product in the market so it will help the company to attract the customer during the first interaction. 

The FDI is being supported in India 100% which is referred as foreign direct investment means a company who is interested to invest in India can start its business with 100% share earlier it was used to be 49% and 51% of the shares remains with the government or the Indian company. Before the company can set up in India they need to register the company officially and also the approval is required from the India Chamber of Commerce. Due to higher rate of corruption also need to bribe some of the government officials for the smooth running of the business organization. The report will give an insight to the various strategic marketing plans of Tim Hortons and the global marketing plans that are implemented by the organization to expand its business in India. The report will further give detailed information about the organization, its products and will try to evaluate the underlying reasons behind expanding its business in India.
