  • Remain impartial:

Don’t: Since I like to surf and also be immersed in a nerdy environment, working at Qualcomm would be really great!

Do: Qualcomm is located in San Diego. According to the website Glassdoor, most employees are computer savvy and much of the socializing amongst employees involves “geeky activities.”

  • Complete attribution: not only the title and not only author, but also where the article or info appeared—on a website? In a paper? In a book?

Don’t: According to John Smith, the average salary for …..

Do: In the article, “Payscale for PTs,” on the website PT Journal, physical therapist John Smith lists the average salary for….

  • Do: Use outside sources as well as company’s own website:
