Company Background

L3Harris Technologies is a US based firm which is an information technology provider and a defence contractor. The organization has services in the global aerospace and defence technology. They are headquartered in Melbourne, FL. Employee strength of the organization goes up to 48,000 with customers in over 130 countries. L3Harris resulted of a merger of Harris Corporation and L3 technologies. Harris corporations’ roots back in 1895 and L3 technologies was created in 1997. In June 2019, Harris and L3 combined their complementary strengths and they are now providing advanced defence and commercial technologies across land, air and sea. With the merger, they changed the mission statement to Innovation being the foundation and forefront of the future.

Some of the key values of the company include:

  • Integrity – Honesty is the key. Everything that an organization does should be ethical and they should be accountable for their practices and everything else.

  • Excellence – Customers should get what they expect and the execution needs to be flawless with innovation delivered with speed.

The organization has an annual revenue of about $17 Billion with an overall market cap of $42 Billion. Some of the deliveries of the organization include about 300 autonomous unnamed undersea vehicles and recently provided a supplier support to the small business for the recovery of the economy by issuing $100 million in accelerated payments. Bill Brown and Chris Kubasik are the key people of this organization. Bill is the Chairman and CEO of the organization while Chris is the president. There are about 12 board members and 10 independent directors making a seasoned and a very experienced leadership team having a very clear roadmap to meet synergy targets. They received the 2018 SAP Innovation Award and L3 Technologies and Harris corporation merged on June 29, 2019. USSOCOM awarded the company with a $100 million contract for upgrading and extending the service life of its existing VSAT.

They also provide education assistance. The average salaries of a Senior Designer in the organization ranges from $86,000 to $95,000 in a year. Average salaries of a Vice President or a similar role in the organization ranges from $228,290 to $335,290. L3Harris employers a variety of job ranks and the employees at the firm are fairly compensated. L3Harris recognizes a military experience to a great level as they consider, the disciple, training and skills with military experience brings success. Lawsuits, Embarrassments, Negative Press

The organization had a merger last year in June and in February this year, there were press releases that L3Harris is looking to shed about 10% of the company. The CEO, Bill Brown is looking to sell its airport security business for 1$ Million. The Chinese company Huawei recently filed a Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against L3Harris. They said that the LTE products of L3Harris infringe 5 patents of Huawei. There were some export violations of the Arms Export Control Act by the organization for several years and they are supposed to pay a fine of about $13 million to the Defense Department’s Defense Technology Security Administration.
