There are always drawbacks, could be the approach or an alternative option the could be used but not aware of. Also different coaches will use different styles and those styles may suit some athletes better.

I think that is very possible, especially given that I feel I have more of an impact an athletes who have similar strengths and weaknesses to myself when I was younger. Self negativity is , unfortunately, a huge part of most people's psyche so there is a constant battle to enable all trainees to adopt positive reflection/feedback/assessment.

Absolute poppycock. A"self" develops on a secondary level every instant and therefore change, movement, growth, attainments, challenges and situations are regular occurences. With knowledge of this,or even a little more awareness self knowledge is a constantly active concept with the undeniable property of being unable to remain static.
