Organizational Overview

The name of the company is YuanShuo Network Technology Co. Ltd. The address is Room 1106, Building 2, Lecong Chuangzhi Valley. The location is Shunde District, Guangdong Province in China. The reason for the location is distance convenience, and the company also has numerous learning opportunities for interns. In the future, I consider working in the company or one with a similar model. I am a marketing manager at the company. My site supervisor is the company's CEO, Xuejun Li. YuanShuo Network Technology Co. Ltd is a privately owned establishment, independent and is free from external control. YuanShuo is a small company with moderately few employees.

YuanShuo engages in small-scale commercial activities and distributes network communications products. Some products supplied by the company include fiber-optic, security cables, and copper network cabling. YuanShuo sells its products locally in China. YuanShuo sells its products around Shenzen and Guangzhou. Generally, the company has a traditional office layout. However, some segments of the organization have a low partition office layout, and it is easy for employees to communicate face-to-face. Currently, the level of interaction is relatively low due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There are a few departments in the company, including production and quality assurance, finance, and the information technology department. The quality assurance department ensures that every good goes through the correct production process and is of standard. The products the company produces have to meet market standards or even higher because there are several competitors. The department can also come up with ideas on how to manufacture some of the goods. The company rarely receives complaints about its products from customers.

The finance department is in charge of several activities in YuanShuo Network Technology Co. Ltd. The department monitors the company's payments, both payables, and receivables. Any payment the company makes or receives goes through the finance department. I also asked a fellow employee, and she told me that the finance department ensures that the company complies with all tax requirements. In China, companies must ensure tax compliance to run smoothly and effectively. Lastly, the department is in charge of the company's expenditure. The last department is information technology, which is in charge of security management and desktop support. Security management involves protecting the company's information from leaking. Desktop support involves fixing system-related problems in the organization, for example handling a computer that will not start.

The CEO is in charge of the organization and is also my site supervisor. However, I have minimal interaction with the CEO. YuanShuo also has a human resources officer and IT manager. The human resources officer is in charge of all the employees' welfare and ensures that we maintain good relations. He interacts with employees regularly to make sure that everyone is comfortable in the organization. If employees have concerns or complaints, they raise them to the human resources officer. So far, I have not met anyone who complains about the organization. Lastly, the IT manager oversees the IT department and ensures all systems in the organization function properly.

Interview

I chose to interview Chenxin Li, who is the IT manager. Chenxin has worked for YuanShuo Network Technology Co. Ltd since 2015. Talking to Chenxin, I realized that he has no qualms about his job, and it satisfies. He joined the company in 2015 as an intern for half a year and later became in charge of the IT department. Chenxin has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and graduated from a renowned university in China. Chenxin received most of his training during the six months of internship. However, after he expressed interest in working for the organization, he received exclusive training for one month. Afterward, Chenxin worked as an assistant in the IT department and became the manager after the previous one left. The training consisted of handling problems with the company's computer systems. An example is solving problems when an organization's website fails to work.

Regarding the training, Chenxin is glad and thinks it was necessary because he learned the most hands-on techniques he uses now. The internship was a bit vague compared to the training. During the training, Chenxin interacted with more employees, and people started calling him to solve fundamental computer problems. Currently, he can handle the most complex issues associated with hardware or software computer systems. Chenxin takes advantage of professional development opportunities. Examples include; developing methods of quality assurance, upgrading the company's computer systems, and coming up with new programs efficient for the organization. Chenxin also trains interns who join the IT department.

Chenxin's short-term goals include diversifying from his regular responsibilities and being in charge of projects, and his long-term goals include opening his firm. Chenxin plans to accomplish his career goals by doing everything required of him and gaining a reputable image. He was not comfortable discussing salaries, so I received no information on the topic. Chenxin's successes include the smooth running of the organization's systems. YuanShuo rarely experiences system problems. The only hardships experienced involve figuring out a way to reboot computer systems when there is a sudden problem. In the future, I would not mind working for YuanShuo Network Technology Co. Ltd because, so far, my experience in the company is pleasant. I also get to learn new things almost every day. The employees are also friendly.
