Monicah was lying on a hammock deep in thought about what the world had turned to. She was surrounded by leafy trees that made the environment very serene. She lived in the middle of the field, where there were thick green leafy shrubs that made it difficult for the sun to penetrate through with her giant lover. When she needed to think and remember about her family and friends, she would lie on the hammock and meditate. Monicah was a middle-aged lady with a light complexion. She had an athletic body, and she was of medium height.

It was on a Tuesday afternoon, and she had just turned 27. However, her lover, called Kingdi, was the leader of the giants, and the other four giants had gone hunting. She did not even know whether they would understand the joy of turning a year old. She did not even have an idea of the world from which world the five giant had come from. Before the invasion of the giants, the world was a very interesting place to be. One day it was reported in the mainstream media that five giants had been identified in the world. They ate humans; thus, they posed a great danger to human beings. The giants were perceived as very dangerous as they would not die, not even through being shot by a machine gun or even a grenade being thrown at them. They seemed to have self-healing powers.

One night they invaded Monicah’s village and carried every person with them to the middle of the forest where they resided. They ate every person apart from Monicah, who was the giant’s leader lover and pet. She did not approve of that, but it was better than being dead. She remembered how she had spent her previous birthdays with her family at their beach house. Tears started rolling down her cheeks. She did not imagine that her whole life, she would be eating human flesh. It was very saddening. She was nostalgic about her past. Regularly, she would have flashes of how her life had been before.

At night, as usual, the five giants came back with their hunt for the day. Unlike previous days, they only came with two people. She peeped at the giants through a crack in the bamboo made house. “It looks like people have come up with ways of escaping us,” one giant said. “If this is the trend, we have to feed on your pet,” the smallest giant, known as Miranda, addressed the leader. He looked down and said nothing. From that moment onwards, Monicah did not hear anything else. Her heart was racing, and she was trembling vigorously. In her head, she knew she needed an escape plan. As usual, the next day, the giants went for hunting. A thought struck her mind. She cut her leg with a knife and tied herself with banana leaves. She limped her way out of the giant’s residence.

On her way, she would hear the chirping of birds, which would occasionally break the grave silence in the forest. All of a sudden, she saw the group of giants returning home. They did not have any catch, which meant she was the meal for the day. She gathered courage and walked towards them. The leader asked her in a very loud voice, “Who is this that resembles Kingdi’s lover, ad where are you headed?” She answered in a soft voice, “ I am not Kingdi’s lover. I am just a hurt and desperate person looking for a place to e treated.” Kingdi answered, “You can not be Kingdi’s lover with all that ugliness. Get out of my site you smelling bastard.” She continued with her journey. All the five giants asked her the same question, and she answered in the same way. After passing the giants, she opened her leg and ran away as fast as she could.
