In my finding in the course are inconsistent in one study a suggested intake of seven drinks or more a week increase the risk of preterm baby while other studies show adverse effect on preterm delivery. In a personal view of this happening to a kid at the school I work at. I work with disable kids and some of them has birth defects from alcohol through pregnancy which led to their disabilities one has a heart defect from alcohol in my reading I saw where it can be passed through the umbilical cord through the placenta to the baby. Which explain their problems and when they act out, they can possibly need that alcohol as a drug treatment. I also work in nursing and we had an older guy who had a prescription for alcohol I wonder can this happen to kids? But in the further reading I see it can not be determined of ones finding of several differences in variables it has been a lot of statistics performed and has different outcomes for the before the pregnancy drinking and during drinking and the risk is still high. They did not find a risk reduction for overall drinking during pregnancy, but analysis showed adverse effects when drinking 1-3 times per month.
