The Convincer • Purpose: To provide detail and examples on how you fit the job description • Use detail with your exam ples (describe what you did, what the outcome was – STAR) • Can use bullets or paragraph format • Example: Through serving guests at the Dunlop House, I have received numerous positive comments about my friendliness, efficiency and attention to detail. The C oncluder • Purpose: Summarize your points and what action you plan to pursue. • Never omit this section • Don’t be “wishy -wash” or vague • If you state you will do s omething, ensure that you do it • Example: I look forward to discussing this position and the exciting things your property pursuing in sustainable practices . Through applied classes such as Pub class and Dunlop Restaurant class, I have held multiple positions such as bartender, server, purchaser and host. Wearing these different hats has helped me understand the various facets of restaurant operations and to work effectively with others in my team. Over the past two years, I started as a kitchen helper at Marigold Breakfast Nook. Three months after I was hired, the owner promoted me to server because of my hard -working ethic, dedication to improve and friendliness with others. It is with this same attitude that I would brin g to Sunny Beach Hotel. Sunny Beach Hotel has a reputation in Victoria for high professional standards and cutting edge sustainable practices – something that I firmly believe. I have been a guest at a number of events at Sunny Beach and each time I have left very satisfied with my experience. I love how the team paid attention to little details such as clearing the few crumbs I left on the table cloth or folding my napkin when I left my seat.
