There is also a major discrepancy in the quality of childcare, with some states, such as Georgia below the average for access to quality care programs. I found this source on Proquest while searching through the library databases. This source is reliable because it is published in a major publication, and it is clear that the author did a great deal of research, bringing in data from multiple states, and citing experts, such as organizations like the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National Association for Family Child Care, and a recent report done by a DC think-tank exploring a “Care Index”, which researched childcare options across the country . I plan to use this article in proving just how expensive childcare is for parents, and how location often determines both affordability and quality . There is also an interesting note about how President Richard Nixon vetoed a bill that would have provided universal childcare in 1971, but he believed the structure of families did not demand this service. However , in the time since then, American culture has changed, and I agree with the author that the time is now to discuss and debate the rising cost for childcare in the United States.
