The Road I Missed by Robert Frost

Robert Frost was one of the most celebrated poets in America. He loves writing poetry during his high school years and wrote his first poem in the New York newspapers. He read his poem at President John F. Kennedy inauguration. Poetry was so vital that he sold his property and used the money to purchase in England to devote time to his poetry writing. His writing was about everyday life and his struggle to decide. The reader will reach a great understanding of his decision.

The Road Not Take theme was easy to understand through his poem. The poem presented how he had a conflict with choosing the right road. He has two roads to choose from after the main road was separated. The person in the poem was alone, and it made a significant difference in their walk. He did not want to be distracted by other people. He was able to see the beauty of the woods. It seems that he would never feel the environment if he would not make this decision.

The writer illustrated the time by describing both roads as yellow wood to know it was during fall. The reader could notice it was the main road before it separated into two yellow wood roads, but the road was similar. When the traveler was trying to choose, he was examining the two roads by looking as far as he could (1) until it was shaded of the height of the vegetation. He proceeded that the other road was the same. Robert implied that the other roads were a better route because grassy was wrapped around him as he was wearing it, meaning fewer travelers. He also made it clear that both roads were the same distance to his destination. He still did not see it as an option to do the other route again because of his double that he will return. In the end, he described that he took the road with lesser people, and it made the traveling more peaceful. Did he make the right choice?

We can see in the poem that he had time to decide what roads to take. When he described how the grassy and wanted wear allowed the reader to know how tall the grassy was. Compared to be challenging to walk on for others, it was lesser people, as he described as one less traveled (4). The reader can feel his distress that he could not travel both roads, either way, he indicated it might not return. He made you think that it was a hard road to travel. As the reader will see that it made a difference to travel on the road with fewer travelers, but as a woman, I would not see it as safe to travel by myself. It would not be the path for everyone.

Robert Frost's poem called The Road Not Taken was demonstrating how to decide for yourself. He was a great writer of his time especially being a part of the inauguration of a President. He was known for writing poetry about everyday life and life struggle. He allowed the reader to have an excellent clear picture of his yellow wood and his surroundings. At the end of the poem, the reader will know he made the right decision for himself.
