Can someone give me an example and explanation on how to approach these questions in the google doc? these are the equation am suppose to use in the question...

Physics Exam Prep Grade 11

*Try to answer the following questions as best as possible (for each topic). We will take it up on Friday in class.*

Kinematics

  1. Mr. Faudemer can’t wait to get home so he decides to fly down the highway at a constant speed of 126km/h. Unfortunately, this excitement is going to cost him. He passes a cop car and the instant he is beside the cop car it starts accelerating after him with an acceleration of 7m/s2. At what time does the cop catch up to Mr. Faudemer? How far did Mr. Faudemer get before the cop was beside him again?

Forces

  1. Tian is playing with their new trainset. Tian doesn’t like to just play with their trains they like to do physics as well! Luckily Tian has a number of sensors they can put on their train. If Tian accelerates the train at 10m/s2 what is the reading on each sensor? What is the force applied Tian is giving to the trainset?

  1. Mike thought it would be fun to go to a truck festival. They have an interesting game where if you can lift a 300kg weight out of the water up 27m without their specified rope breaking the fastest you win $1,000. The people running them game tell him that the rope holds a maximum of 400kg without breaking. Mike figures this is easy money if you know your physics. He asks you to figure out what his acceleration should be and hops in the trusty ford ranger. What is the maximum acceleration he can do without breaking the rope? What was his time?

  1. Clayton and MacGregor decide to have a competition to see who can slide the furthest on Clayton's new floor. They both put on identical socks and get the same running start. They start their slide with a velocity of 20m/s. If Clayton weighs 72.5kg and MacGregor weighs 90kg and the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.8. How far do each of them slide and who wins the competition?

Work/Energy

  1. William is pushing a box over to a forklift that is 240m away. William pushes on an angle as shown below with 120N. If the box weighs 45kg and the coefficient of kinetic friction is 0.30 what is the net work done on the box? If it takes William 30s to do this what is his power?

  1. Seane loves roller coasters and physics. She is able to look up the max speed of her favourite ride Dragon Fyre, which is about 80km/h. She now wants to find the height of the first drop as well as the height of the first loop knowing you are going 16m/s at the top of the loop.

Waves and Vibrations

  1. I asked Julia to play me the 3rd harmonic on her clarinet. If I asked her to play on June 25th when it is 29oC and I knew the clarniet carried a frequency of 235Hz what is the length of the clarinet (This is an air column but what kind?)(length may be rediculous don’t worry we are not making any clarinets)

  1. Mr. Flint was standing on the corner of the street when an ambulance came racing towards him. He takes out his handy radar gun and sees that it is travelling at 27m/s. From a quick google he found the frequency of the siren is 750Hz. If it is 30 degrees outside, what frequency should Mr. Flint detect? As it moves away from him what frequency should he detect? [ find both moving towards and away!]
