1 GROUP ASSIGNMENT FOR MAT240S MAY 2021 (5%) IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT PLAGIARIZE Every group is expected to do their o wn report and should not copy / use the works of others . Cover Page (see the attached sample) – 1 mark This page should be signed by all group members . Scan your signatures. II. Table of contents – 1 mark (see sample) III. Introduction –10 marks a. Brief overview about subject matte r (as specified in your proposal) - 5 marks ˗ do some research on TWO studies done on your topic. ˗ Include a s ummary about the studies and the findings from the studies . b. Purpose of your study, (To investigate what? -refer to the research questions that you have listed in the research proposal , you may add extra research questions ) -3 marks You should have at least 6 research questions that include : (i) Estimation of population mean of a variable . (ii) Estimation of population proportion of a variable (iii) The relationship between 2 nominal/ordinal variables (iv) Comparison of means of a ratio variable between 2 categories of a nominal variable (v) Comparison of means of a ratio variable between 3 or more categories of a nominal variable. (vi) Comparison of percentage (proportion) of a nominal variable among two categories of a nominal variable. Put all these in Question form. c. Data collection method -2 marks ˗ explain in detail how your data was collected. c. Data Analysis method -6 marks ˗ what software was used to analyze your data ? ˗ what kind of tests and analysis was done for each of the research questions? e.g. co rrelation analysis, paired -sample t -tests, chi -square tests etc . d. Descriptive of the demographic variables -5 marks ˗ To describe the profile/background of the respondents in tabular, graphical and numerical measures. V. Findings and observations (70 marks) This section are finding s from your data analysis. (Explain all charts and tables that are included in this section). Contents of this section should include findings which answer your research questions. You need to answer ALL your RESEARCH QU ESTIONS that you listed in Section II I(b) . (The marks allocated will be from your workings in the EXCEL file as well as your explanation in the report - refer to the marking scheme) This section contains: I. Descriptive statistics of the variables in your research questions (graphical, tabular and numerical measures – with explanation) II.
