1.3 Introduction and background

This discussion looks at Japan regarding political, economic, societal, and technological factors. It is a powerful country comprising Paleolithic people who settled there many years ago and developed a culture called Jomon. In the olden days, they specialized in hunting and gathering, cloth making, making wooden housed and clay vessels. The county is known for its advanced technology and industries in the modern day.

2.0 Global marketing analysis of Japan

One of Japan's dominant strategies in market analysis is their consumers' taste for foreign products. A new producer needs to brand, market, and structure products to show its best foreign characteristic. A major threat in Japan's market analysis is local companies rallying against foreign companies (KERSEY, 2020). Regulations and licenses bureaucratize Japan. The size of Japan and its complex infrastructure needs an extensive investment.

2.1 Political, rules and regulations of Japan

Japan is lead by an emperor who has limited powers over the political affair of the country; the emperor is considered a symbol of national unity while the prime minister and the cabinet perform executive duties. Japan developed a post-war constitution, and its capital is Tokyo. Japan has a stable internal political environment but faces external diplomatic problems and territorial disputes with its neighboring countries, South and North Korea, China, and Russia (Ohta, 2015). The legal environment of Japan entails maternity leaves and breaks for all employees, medical insurance, accident compensation, and unemployment insurance for everyone regardless of citizenship.

2.2 Economy of Japan

Japan is ranked among the top economies in the globe and the second in Asia. It has a mixed economy with industries ranging from vehicle production, electronics, production of ships, chemical, textile, and food processing industries. It holds the largest vehicle manufacturing industry in the globe. Japan heavily relies on importing raw materials for its industries from neighboring countries and exports products from their industries, such as vehicles, electronics, and processed food. However, many exporters are concerned about the rise of the Japanese yen. Japan imposes taxes on Japanese companies and income tax on foreign countries.

2.3 People, Society, and Culture of Japan

Japan is ranked tenth in population globally with 125 million occupants (Worldometers, 2022). They speak the Japanese language and practice Shintoism and Buddhism. Japan faces an aging population problem and a low birth rate problem. Japan's life expectancy is 81 years. The Japanese prefer their products, making it difficult to trade with companies from other countries. Thus, countries need to conduct a detailed examination of Japan before considering trading.

2.4 Technology of Japan

Japan is ranked among the technological countries globally that pursues innovation and creativity. Japan is well known for innovation in fields such as automation systems and robot development used in their industries. They had also shown tremendous work in space exploration, railway transport, and chemical production long before other countries had discovered those innovative factors.

3.0 Conclusion

Japan is a powerful country that comprises Paleolithic people. It is known for its advanced technology and industries. Japanese consumers have a taste for foreign products, but foreign nations face harsh regulations and permits, making Japan bureaucratic.
