You area travel advisor working with Viva Holidays. Your main responsibility is to interpret specific details of product and provide information to customers to meet their needs.

You are required to research and interpret current, relevant and accurate product information in response to the three (3) different sales related enquiries as below:

    1. A customer wants to go to Fuji around August with his family including 2 young kids for about a week. They will depart from Sydney. They prefer to use of a rental vehicle while in the destination.

    1. A customer is interested to go to New Zealand with his wife. They prefer to have a self-drive holiday to the South Island especially Queenstown and surroundings. They have budget for luxury hotels and first-class flight ticket. They need suggestion for the activities and accommodation options for their travel destination. The customer is Australian citizen whereas his wife is Permanent Resident of Australia.

    1. The customer is currently in China. She is an international student who has recently enrolled with University of Sydney. Her first arrival to Sydney will be on Mid May. She wants to book a short tour to visit Sydney CBD prior to her commencement of study. As this is the first time for her to come to Sydney, she also has enquiries for the trip shuttle airport transfers service.

Activities

  1. Develop a portfolio

You are required to develop a portfolio for the three (3) different customer enquiries above. It will be helpful for you to research, interpret and share information with colleagues.

You are required to

  • use internet to get access to the reference resources via the provided website link above to access to the product information.

  • use internet to get access to service provider website to conduct research on the up-to-date product information to meet customer needs, such as: flight ticket and accommodation options

  • use government tourism authority information systems to research relevant information such as visa requirements, travel warning, health suggestion etc.

Your portfolio must include the following information for each of the three (3) enquiries including:

  • feature and benefits of travel products that meeting specific customer needs

  • product rates and tariffs and their application to different customers and seasons

  • accommodation options and details including pricing

  • flight ticket options and pricing

  • Travel add-ons if applicable

  • Additional product or service information that meeting specific customer needs if applicable

  • industry terminology and common abbreviations

  • passport and visa requirements if applicable

  • safety advisory information

  • health advisory notices and vaccination information

  • Share information with others using effective communication skills

  • Proactively seek input and opinions from colleague

  • Discuss and share information on sources to update and maintain product knowledge
