Suprovich LABR 3140, Winter 2023 1 LABR 3140 Pensions and Benefits Assignment: Final Project Winter 2023 February 28 , 2023 The final project consists of two (2) components, a persuasive essay and an in -class presentation. Each student will be randomly assigned a topic related to the subject matter discussed in class and may choose which p osition they wish to write from (agree/ disagree). You will not be evaluated on which position you choose, but rather how well you are able to support that position. There are three (3) classes dedicated to presentations, March 21, 28 , & April 4, 2023. Each student will be randomly assigned a d ate for their presentation and their essay will be due one (1) week later. Essay The essay should : 1. Have a thesis that clearly states your position 2. Provide evidence to support your position 3. Address at least one counter point from the opposing position 4. Contain multiple references with bibliography 5. Be roughly five (5) pages, double spaced, 12 -point font ( approximately 1,25 0 words) 6. Be written in complete sentences and paragraphs, although specific style is the choi ce of the student 7. Use proper grammar and punctuation Total Marks: 20% of final grade Presentation The presentation should: 1. Contain relevant information regarding your topic and selected position 2.
