Hello, I am asking for help doing a research paper. Deadline Aug. 6

Writing a Research Proposal

Write a brief proposal (1/2 to 1 page) for a research question or set of questions you are interested in investigating. Consider this as a sort of status report on your thinking now. Be honest and let me see you thinking. Use the writing of the proposal to figure out what your question or questions might be, rather than figuring it all out ahead of time.

Evidently, once you start finding and reading the texts that you find, your topic will be changing as you learn more about it, and your research question(s) will be revised many times. You need to start somewhere, and this is our starting point: a research proposal.

Include the following aspects of a research proposal:

  • what you’re interested in exploring

  • how or why you became interested in it

  • any connection you have to the topic (how your experiences or perspective relate)

  • how or why it is significant or problematic

A significant or problematic issue is one that matters to people. Find out whether your topic or question matters to people by asking around: Why should people care about this? Decide for yourself why we should care if you think we should. (Don’t choose a topic or question you don’t care about.)

End your proposal with listing key terms and concepts to be defined and explained.
