If you do not have the Office 365 version of Excel, download the latest version. (See the Downloading Office 365 Programs tutorial linked in your Brightspace course .) 1. Open your data set in Excel. Be sure the Analysis Tool Pak is enabled . Steps for how to do this are available on the Microsoft Support site. 2. On the Data tab, click the Data Analysis button . 3. The Data A nalysis window includes a list of analysis tools. S elect Descriptive Statistics from the list and click OK . 4. In the Descriptive Statistics box , select the Input Range field . T hen select all your numerical data . 5. Check the box next to Summary Statistics and click OK . 6. You should see a new sheet with just your descriptive statistics listed in a chart. Change the titles of the columns to their respective names from your data . Remove any information that is not needed for this project.
