Introduction (one or two paragraphs)
Introduce the organization (the community of penguins or meerkats) that you are working with. Identify and provide a brief history of the key issue(s) that is driving change within this organization based on the current situation. Assume that you have been hired as the Organization Development (OD) practitioner to assist with further changes and summarize why you have been asked to help. Consider some of the challenges that this community has faced in the past and one or two challenges it may face in the future. These challenges may be caused by the external or internal environments.
Theories of Planned Change (Chapter 2)
Describe to your leadership team why planned change is so important to organization survival. Identify the one organizational change model that you intend to implement with this organization. Discuss all the steps of the chosen change model and explain how each step will be applied to your organization. Use course concepts, imagination, and details of your chosen organization to support your approach and observations.
Ethics (Chapter 3)
Inform the client of the ethical commitments you are adhering to with them. As a professional OD practitioner, you are committed to supporting and acting in accordance with these guidelines. Using headings, identify the four ethical guidelines that an OD professional must consider. Summarize and discuss one or tow principles for each guideline that you must consider when working with the organization’s stakeholders.
Open-Systems Model (Chapter 5)
Describe the open-systems model in your own words. Discuss how the ever-changing external environment constantly affects an organization’s internal interrelated and interdependent subsystems. Then, discuss each of the seven key properties of an open system, using complete sentences. (Do not use lists here).
Identify and discuss whether the organizational colony or clan at the beginning of our chosen book is an open system or a closed system, based two or three of the key properties. Clearly identify two external environmental factors that have affected this organization.
