Purpose: Identify two job design components that might help the major problem identified in the organizational diagnosis (Assignment 1). This assignment forms section 2 of the organizational change report to your organization.

Length: Assignment 2 should be 6–8 double-spaced pages, not including the title page and references.

Using what you have learned so far in the course, answer the questions that follow. Use the headings given to structure your paper.

Assessment

Use any two of the design components below to illuminate what’s happening with the penguins or the meerkats. It’s up to you whether the two components come from the same level or from different levels (i.e., organization-level, group/team/departmental-level, or individual-level).

Data Collection Methods (Chapter 6)

Keeping in mind the two design components you intend to explore, briefly explain the four data collection methods you will use. Include two advantages, two disadvantages, and two ethical considerations for each method as they relate to your chose organization. Explain to the leadership team how you plan to implement one of the methods.

Intervention Strategies (Chapter 7)

Choose one of the design components from the Assessment section above and identify one intervention subcomponent that you can develop into an appropriate intervention program. To provide some context to your leadership team, begin by briefly discussing two of the four major groups of interventions (i.e., human process, technostructural, human resources management, and strategic change interventions). Be sure to include the one that includes your chosen subcomponent. Explain to the leadership team why you are recommending the specific program intervention that you have selected. How will this intervention help the change process?
