In this creative piece, you will answer Mr. Keating, using dialogue from the clip, and discuss how you perceive the act and art of writing poetry/being creative based on things like who you are, how you were raised, what you do for a living, or what you hope to do  in the future?  Are there aspects of what he says that resonate with you?  Are you someone who grew up encouraged to be creative, or was that side of you not encouraged?  Are you in or going into a career known for its creativity?  If not, how do you think, based on what Mr. Keating says, you can work to flex your creative muscle within your current or future career?  Incorporate a specific time in your life in the piece where you were or were not encouraged to be creative, and help your audience understand how that shaped your perception of the creative process.

You may write this like a scene from a play with dialogue, or you may write it in paragraph form.  Whatever form you choose, the creative product should be no more than 750 words of writing and the document MLA 9th edition formatted.

Pick one of the articles below, and work to incorporate that article into your creative piece.  The work may only include the articles noted here.

 Part 2:

Multimodal Element for the Nonfiction Artifact

Based on what you noted in your conversation with Mr. Keating above, create a type of TedTalk where you use words and images to convey your own message about the creative process.  You do not need to be on camera, but you do need to use your authentic voice.  Pick a group to speak with.  As you start your screencast or PowerPoint, identify who you are speaking with about this process.  Are you talking to a group of future nurses, for instance?    My name is ______________, and I am here to speak to you about my journey to becoming a creative writer/thinker.”  The video should be two to three minutes and make meaningful and significant use of a different article from the three noted above (one different from the one you used in your written piece).
